SAN ANTONIO, Texas - September 2, 2008 - MDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDII), today announced that its LearnSafe® Initiative has been selected by the administration and board of trustees of Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District to provide school safety, security and law enforcement supplies and equipment on a district-wide scale. Los Fresnos CISD is located in Los Fresnos, TX, and encompasses thirteen school campuses, numerous administrative buildings, transportation and maintenance facilities.
As a consolidated district, Los Fresnos CISD services a large geographic area which includes the Texas Gulf Coast towns of Bayview, Indian Lake and Olmito as well as the coastal communities of Arroyo Gardens-La Tina Ranch, Chula Vista-Orason, Del Mar Heights, Green Valley Farms and Laureles. Portions of Brownsville and Rancho Viejo also lie within the district.

As part of this purchasing vehicle, LearnSafe (MDI) will be the only approved vendor capable of providing physical security solutions to the district until July 2009. Budgeted purchases, in any quantity and amount, can now made by district personnel upon request, without the additional need for additional vendor quotes or school board approval.

Los Fresnos CISD borders several other South Texas school districts including Brownsville ISD, San Benito ISD, Point Isabel ISD (South Padre Island), Rio Hondo ISD and Lyford ISD.
