  Visitors, Trespassers, Orders of No-Contact:
   
  • Is there a procedure to register visitors, is the procedure at a centralized location?
  • Are visitors given temporary identification (ID) cards?
  • Is there a procedure for accountability of temporary ID cards?
  • Is there a procedure for contract/service personnel?
  • Is there a procedure for escorting non-registered visitors to the registration point or off the school grounds?
  • Through whose authority is Law Enforcement contacted if an individual refuses to leave school property?
  • Is a list of any Court Orders of No-Contact kept by the school to ensure student safety?
  • How is that list safeguarded and disseminated to need-to-know personnel?
   
Harassment, Intimidation, Bullying (HIB):
 
  • Does the school have an established HIB Policy(ies)?
  • Is the policy(ies) posted throughout the school and or included in student/teacher handbooks?
  • Are there established programs (monitoring, counseling, empowerment, tutoring, mentorship, etc) in place to identify warning signs associated with student violence?
  • Do staff personnel conduct periodical training regarding HIB?
  • Does the school promote student training in conflict resolution?
  • Is there an established Student Code of Conduct?
  • Is the Code of Conduct thorough enough that each student understands his or her requirements, obligations and responsibilities as a student of the school?
  • How is the Code of Conduct disseminated to the students?
  • What procedure governs the disciplinary action for students making threats of violence?
   
Tools, Utensils, Chemicals and Hazardous Items:
 
  • Are items that could be used as weapons secured and inventoried?
  • Do students have unsupervised access to any of these items?
  • Are access rosters and or control logs kept in proximity of these items?
   
Sexual Predators / Offenders:
 
  • Is there a procedure to report suspicious individuals in vicinity of the school or bus stops?
  • What is the procedure when a know predator lives near a bus stop?
