- Are all buildings (to include outbuildings),
doors, and windows locked nightly to prevent entry?

- Does the school have a key control policy and
procedure?
- Is a detailed key log maintained?
- Do students have access to any keys?
- Are there any areas of landscaping that do
not allow for complete observation and pose a threat to safety
or security?
- Do the school grounds have adequate lighting
to ensure a safe environment?
- Does the school meets all state requirements
for educational facilities through annual inspection?
- Does the school have a plan for correcting
deficiencies noted during the annual inspection?

Additionally, the LearnSafe® site survey team will conduct
interviews with local first responders to gauge the level of understanding
of and interaction with the Emergency Management plan(s) at the school
or district level. |
